Note | Additional Notes : ============== In 1891 census, we have Israel Ibbotson (aged 40) living in Dale St, Ossett, with his wife Eliza Ann (aged 38) and their children : Wilfred (aged 9), Almona (aged 6) and Edith Annie (aged 6). Edith Annie's mother died in 1897 when Edith was 9 years old. In 1901 census, we have Israel Ibbotson (aged 50), widowed, living in Dale St, Ossett, Dewsbury with his children : Wilfred (aged 19), Alma (aged 16) and Edith A (aged 13). They are living in his mother-in-law's house : Harriet Riley (aged 73) is widowed and in addition to Israel's family, also has her daughter Emma (aged 36) in the house. Russel Frederick Woods married Edith Annie Ibbotson on the 18th December 1909, but only 5 days later he died in an accident at the mill where he was working. Edith was (presumably) already pregnant with their child before she was married. Their daughter was born a few months later in 1910, after Russell had died. she was named after him as Freda Russell Wood. In 1911 census, we have Israel Ibbotson (aged 60), widowed, living at 4 Union St, Ossett, with his daughter Edith Annie Woods (aged 23), widowed, and Edith's daughter Freda Russell Woods (aged 11months). also in the house is Israel's sister-n-law Emma Riley (aged 44). Later In 1911, Edith married Freddy Ward. He was a widower with 2 children already from his marriage to Rachel Tyler : Daniel and Alice Ward. In 1913, Edith and Freddy's son George Ward was born. On 17 Jan 1919, Edith's husband Freddy also died. Edith was (presumably) already pregnant with their second child. Their second son Jack was born later that year. Edith married Frederick Alfred Dodds and had two children with him. Some time after that (and the details are unclear) Frederick left, and had two further children with someone else. LINKS: |
