By the 1841 census, Francis's wife had died/disappeared. He was living with his mother (Jane), and his two children(Jane and Ann).

By 1851 Francis had remarried Jane Gardiner and was now living with his new wife and her two children Jane and William.

His daughter Ann was still living with her grand-mother (Jane) in 1851, and Jane had moved out.

By 1861, only Franics and Jane were left in the household (he was still working as an ag lab).
