Also in the house is Rose's brother Walter Calvert (aged 21) and her parents Thomas Calvert (aged 65) and Elizabeth Calvert (aged 64).

We can find no evidence that Rose and George Steeples ever married, either in England or America.

In 1870 US census, we have George Steeples, a brickmaker from England (aged 53) living in Concord, Elkhart, Indiana with his wife Rose (aged 50) and their children : Anna L (aged 15), Cora (aged 7) and Calvert (aged 6).
